If you want to travel to Finnmark there are many ways to do so.

Every day there are several direct flights from Oslo to Alta and Kirkenes, and plane connections to the other municipalities in the county. The flying time between Oslo and Alta/Kirkenes is about 2 hours. The county of Finnmark has airports in: Alta, Hasvik, Hammerfest, Honningsvåg, Mehamn, Berlevåg, Båtsfjord, Vardø, Vadsø, Lakselv and Kirkenes. The airports in Finnmark are used by Widerøe, Norwegian and SAS.

Route connections by boat and ferry in Finnmark are good, with several departures daily. Route maps and other information are to be found at Boreal Transport Nord’s homepage. The Coastal Steamer (‘Hurtigruten’) calls at 11 ports along the long and rough coast of Finnmark. These harbours are to be found in Kirkenes, Vadsø (only northbound), Vardø, Båtsfjord, Berlevåg, Mehamn, Kjøllefjord, Honningsvåg, Havøysund, Hammerfest and Øksfjord.
